Director's vision

I feel very excited about telling my story because just saying the words

"A blind woman who's yarns to be a professional dancer, " just excites me. I hope that people who see the film become inspired to follow their own dreams.

For a blind woman who wants to be a dancer, all the odds are against her, I want to tell the story visually, supported by a rich sound.

How do people react to someone who is blind? White cane explores this question and the nature of blindness. It also highlights what it means to be a dancer and live by the love of movement.

As human beings, the only limits we have are those we set for ourselves. If we believe it, we can achieve it.

I have been a dance teach for 25 years and am passionate about directing a dance film with a meaningful story. I hope that audiences find WHITE CANE satisfying, visually and emotionally.

For Vanessa, the main actress, I want her to come across as a strong dancer. She needs to convey the emotions so the audience likes her and feels for her.

Danielle, the supporting actress, needs to come across as bubbly and full of life. I want her to have great energy.

This story Is also about loneliness, determination, and friendship. These are deep core feelings of the human condition.

I want the editing to feel very smooth so we feel what Vanessa feels and what's in her head. To convey her moods and feelings, the music is going to be very important to the film. It all has to work together to bring the story and the message of WHITE CANE to life.
